Jackson, you're going to Go Play [edit: NW], right?
Nick Smith and Jake Richmond indicated they'd be doing some Sea Dracula playtesting there.

I'm looking forward to it! What kind of goofy creature to be? Maybe a pirate otter. Would an owlbear be too cliche?

We will be bringing an early draft of Sea Dracula to Go Play NW.

    See you there.

I don't know. Maybe? I know you get extra points for tricking nonplayers into dancing with you. Maybe you also get extra points for bringing your own music or matching music to moves?

also i would love for some suggestions about what kind of dances you all would like to see in sea dracula...

Thanks to Professor Curtis' Limbo Fever, a lot of people who hang out here are excellent limbo contestants.

you can be an owlbear if you want... it doesnt really matter what animal you play, its really more about the awesome name you give it.

    What, isn't Owlbear awesome enough?

No. Owlbear is an awsome name for a dog or a shark, but not for an owlbear. Dogshark is an excellent name for an owlbear.

But if you want to call your owlbear "owlbear" you can. I just can't really imagine a dancing owlbear lawyer named owlbear. It just seems... lazy.

What about an owlbear named Thunderbeak? Wing-wing? Wolftruck?

No, you're right of course. An owlbear named Owlbear is much more likely to be a singing surgeon.

I've seen the error of my ways.
Owlbears remain a vital and vibrant part of the ecosystem, and not cliche at all. Bad me.

However, I'm sticking to my pirate otter, Terror of the Inner Seas, Cattyrumpus, first of his name.

I feel that something is lacking from this thread. Sure, we're all crowing on about how awesome dancing is and how innovative that is and all that, but we're overlooking the true genius at work here. Yes, the genius that is COLOURING IN as a means to generate a character. Tell us more about colouring in Jake!

You know how when you go to Denny's or somewhere they'll give you a kids menu and a pack of 4 crayons? How much fun is that? sea Dracula brings all the fin of affordable dining to indie gaming!

Packed in with every copy of Sea Dracula is an authentic set of 4 crappy crayons! Each color represents one of Sea Dracula's action stats: Investigation, Fighting, Partying and Dancing. Color your lawyer animal mostly blue with yellow stripes to min-max for fighting with a side of investigation. Have your creature attorney major in red with a minor in green for a dancing machine who knows hoy to party!

I was hoping you'd say something like that! Yay for colorific character creation!

"I have a mauve -- or is that a very light lilac? -- Investigation, shaped like a head -- does that beat your light green apple-shaped Investigation?"

-- I'll dance you for it!

That's pretty much exactly how it works. But in a courtroom setting.

Can you guarantee the same set of crayon color from a four-pack of crappy crayons vendor like that? I'd expect such a thing to change without warning.

If not, maybe you need a key with little boxes to color in on the character sheet.

we found some cheap crayon 4 packs that will hopefully workout but if not i think we will go with your suggetion and have the players color in the character with what they have then mark down what each color represents...

If the game's as funny as this thread, it'll need a surgeon general's warning.
