Congratulate me: I've released my first supplement for an indie game. John Harper has been quoted as saying "What? No! No no no! Please, no! You're destroying the game I love!" Or something like that.

You can download Temple of Hera free from RPGNow or straight from the Lame Mage website. It's the first in the Spears & Glory series, which will include more Agon adventures like Beast of Kolkoris and the now marginally-infamous Sack of Lemotea.

Big thanks to all the playtesters: George Austin, Jeff Collyer, Jonathan Davis, John Farrish, Jeff Hosmer, Mona Hosmer, Patty Kirsch, Georgianna Marshall, Joshua Seigler, and Elliott Wu, as well as the Antagonists who tortured them, Nick Marshall and Mel White. Extra thanks to Mike Frost, Jem Lewis, and Kevin Lewis who I smacked around in the first playtest round, Ching-Ping Lin for her tireless ninja-like vigilance, and of course John Harper for making Agon in the first place.

More info about upcoming adventures on the Lame Mage blog.

Wow, that's very kewl. Never had my name in print.

I ran this for the Northern VA small press RPGers. Ben has done a great job here. This is a very easy adventure to run, I was impressed with how well this was laid out. This was my first time running AGON, and the first time my daughter played a RPG. We all had a good time. I did tone it down a little, for my 10 year old. No slaughtering of temple virgins here, I changed them into priestess..

Then next time I run it, I will do it in the Classical style.

This adventure is really cool. Ben's sidebar tips on running Agon are excellent, too. Check it out!

Yep, that's what I'm shooting for -- easy to run with no prep at all. Just pick up the adventure, read it and go.

I'm also very sympathetic to GMs scanning through blocks of text in the middle of the game, desperately trying to find some critical detail -- I want the stuff you need to pop right out at you.

    That's awesome!

I have to admit I did have a "hurk!" moment when I heard you were running the game for a 10 year old. The admittedly Classical tone can clash pretty hard with modern morality. Nice recovery.

I just saw that Mel has a complete recording from when he ran Temple of Hera at Terpcon. How did I miss this?

I like how you improv'ed the flashback oath stuff Mel -- very cool!

Definitely give us all the gory details.

Hmm, that reminds me, forgot to post here that Beast of Kolkoris was ready too.
