Well, I guess it was the last tool missing, so I went and built a generator for planets in 3:16 on Abulafia:

    ThreeSixteen Planets

Since it ignores what has already been picked it is not suited for campaign play, but well, it's spiffy anyway :)

@Gregor: since there are already fan made planet sheets I assumed reproducing your planet tables was Ok, let me know if I got it wrong :)

i like that the mission is always the same but it says it anyway. :)

Heh... I think it fits the theme of the game... also, It is a wee bit less dry than a simple, one line per planet generator :)

Renato, I literally had Abulafia on my screen and the book open in front of me, ready to build the same thing. I'm glad you beat me to it! Now I can get to playing that much sooner.

One thing I was planning to do differently was to generate a list of planets, so a GM could print off a whole page of ready made missions. In any case, nice work!

The tricky part, on Abulafia, would be to have non-repeating elements: I honestly have done everything by simply copying another generator, so I don't know if abulafia has the tools to do so.

Remember that by the rules you have to exhaust all 20 options before reusing them...

I *might* insert another table for the mission objective... with a dozen variations on "kill em all", since well, that's the mission anyway :)

    What do you think?

Actually, the general order for a planet is to kill everything, but individual missions might vary- recon, feint, surveying, rescue, capture a strategic point, etc. Just a thought.

Yeah, that's true... we could generate a line like:

Mission Objective: Rescue Prisoners, and Terminate all Alien Lifeforms with Extreme Prejudice

Mission Objective: [sub objective], and Terminate all Alien Lifeforms with Extreme Prejudice

Okay, I couldn't help it. I took your solid work at Abulafia and rebuilt it with a quick PHP script. You can see it here. It generates a randomized list of 20 planets, without repeating elements. I didn't include mission, but that could be fixed.

Wonderful... now you just have to go scour the NASA site for some public domain images of planets, touch them up a bit with gimp to add variation, and add a "vista" of the planet to the mix!

    ...whatcha waitin' for? go!

    ^___^

These should be reversed. It seems clear (to me, at least) that the primary objective of the 3:16 is to kill all lifeforms.

Now you starting to sound like Morningstar!

/me wanders off to look for planet pictures...

I could use a NPC trooper generator too... something to quickly come up with: Name, Nickname, Description, and How they will die.

Let me know if you need more... tinkering with gimp is a fun game

    @Mike

    mmmmhhh... that's doable, definitely. Later.

On a similar matter, I've created a Mission Complications table as my first blog post here.

Oh, the planet choices lists are available on the website for free so it is A-OK to make these generators. I'm amazed at this thread, I guess I'll be using your programs to make my planets from now on!
