I'm kind of kicking myself for not taking the opportunity to buy Awesome Adventures when Willow stopped by our booth at GenCon, but since it's available on lulu I'm thinking I'll order a copy once I get some more money coming in.

What other neat, off the beaten path, RPG type things might I get from there?

My recent Lulu order included Greg Stolze's A Dirty World, Nathan Russell's Space Rat RPG, and Eric Provost's The Infected. There's a lot of IPR products available for POD on Lulu as well, so if you've been meaning to get something, you can add it to your order.

    Hey Ewen,

It was good to meet you at Gen Con.

I've had Greg Saunders' Ruby for a while. The rules mechanics didn't hook me, but the setting is damn compelling. It might be a while, but I'll definitely be using the setting for something.

    Also, Spione.

Dread: The First Book of Pandemonium. It's the hottest horror game I have, filled with meaty story, and easy to run as well.

    Thank you, compadre!

Please note that there are also various supplements available at the Lulu store, including a magazine of fan-written content (not unlike Dragon or The Rifter).

    Neat stuff all around, but:

    1. I'm mainly interested in stuff that's not available on IPR, since I periodically go and order a bunch of things there anyway.

    2. Please tell us a little bit about these games, or link to something where I can find out more.

Also, has anyone checked out MSF High?

    Hi, Neko. Fair enough.

Dread is only available via Lulu (though if you see me in person at a con or something, I'll be happy to sell you a copy). It's a large book -- 280 pages, 8.5 x 11.

The cover art has been described as lurid, adolescent, and sexist. People have said that the profanity in the game's text is unnecessary and offensive. The game's interior art has been criticised for its reliance on grotesquerie, deformity, and women with tentacles where sex organs ought to be.

And these are its good points.

p.s. MSF High looks really fun. But that page reminds me of a pet peeve of mine. The text on a game's Lulu page should include a hyperlink to the publisher's web site. The few lines of text permitted by Lulu aren't really enough to help me make a decision about a purchase.

In addition to the numerous interesting games mentioned so far, here are a few others:

Colin Frederick's Sufficiently Advanced & Princess Game
    Bret Gillan's Pundit's & Pollsters
    John O'Brien's Caper!
    Kirt Dankmeyer's Unsung
and, of course, the RPGpundit's Forward ...to Adventure!

(These are all games I've acquired, excepting the RPGPundit's - I'm not afraid to say it's name, but I draw the line at caring.)

And we're still only scratching the surface. There are hundreds of RPGs on lulu and the run the gamut of quality and type, but there is also a raw vein of madcap creativity there that you will not find anywhere else. It's pretty amazing, and pretty scary.

Solipsist, the cover in a fetching shade of green and a cream paper interior.

kill puppies for satan, an unfunny roleplaying game (the annotated version including cockroach souffle).

Cool ... there is a best game ever!? I must buy it at once!

I've sold a couple of Solipsist's on Lulu, but its sort of a stealth purchase, I don't know about it happening or who it was

I can't believe I forgot about the Story Games Name Project, which I've been meaning to order forever.

This time around I'm ordering that, Awesome Adventures, Space Rat, and MSF High.

I misread this as "Sufficiently Advanced Princess Game" and was expecting a game of unabashed transhumanistic wish fulfillment. Alas!
