Out There - Beyond Club SG

This is a supplement for Out There, created pretty much entirely by Mad JP (the writer). Out There is an awesome game with strong rules that support collaborative play and direct the imagination. However, some players may feel daunted by the pure amount of creative input the game demands. But no more! Now these players can try out the game using Beyond Club SG, a FREE supplement that provides a creative kickstart. How does it do this you ask? Good question, here are the ways in which it offers this creative boost:

    - provides a firm starting situation to spark the imagination.
    - has three decks of cards to kindle the creative impulse: characters, places, events.

Beyond Club SG does not supersede the rules of Out There, but offers new supplementary rules that enhance the ability of the game to direct creativity and kick it up a notch.

Beyond Club SG is a game of Out There taking place on the campuses of Kent Ohio, where a clandestine organization of self-professed geeks and weirdos known as Club SG operates in force. People have gone missing, and now it is your job as rookie FBI agents to solve the mystery of what is happening beyond club SG!

Within all this fiction is metafun! The character cards in the deck are truly bastardized and shamelessly taken from online Story Games (SG) members!* The places and event cards are twisted versions of those seen in other popular games!

Beyond Club SG is a free PDF supplement for the Out There RPG. Possibly there will also be an ashcan kind of boxset with actual cheaply produced cards, club sg signature story tokens, dice, and other bonus material depending on interest.

Coming Soon, an official supplement to Out There from Indie Game Challenge Company #2... (You may check out Out There right now though, for a minimal 1$ fee)

*Obviously this is all in good fun, but if the characterizations truly offend anyone they may contact me to make changes or be removed from the deck.

Ah! Am I in there? If so, it's a fun, inclusive way of binding our community together! If not, you're all a bunch of elitist bastards looking down on the rest of us, and I hate you all.

Yes, I suppose the opposite is true too - comment on this thread if you want to have a character card bastardization in the game.

Matthijs, the cards are still be made, so you never know!

I scoff at this idea of permission. Linking to a broken page on the other hand! How could you!

Feel free to riff on me, if you like. I'm all but two of the first page hits on Google for my name, if you need inspiration other than what and how I post.

Its also been hinted at that the sample cards are too obtuse in naming for anyone to realize who they are bastardized versions of. Is that true? I didn't want to make it in your face obvious, but a subtle kind of thing.

It seems pretty obvious if you get it, but at first I didn't.

Also, I know of four guys in particular who will look quite bad enough if this is the supplement that gets finished first, wink wink, nudge nudge.

Johnstone, not really trying to make anyone look bad, just have to find some way to overcome the loss of quite a few sales :)

No shit, man. You've been entirely too open-handed and friendly about this whole thing.

Keep that shit up, and we're gonna have to throw down.

I would be happy to be Lampooned, just to tell all my geeky pals I was lampooned in a game supplement. I am also the only person with my name in the world, according to Google.
