A Penny For My Thoughts, my story-telling game of improvisation and identity, is in the warehouse and shipping now. Order by the end of June to get the print + PDF bundle for only one penny more than the book’s cover price.

    I'm totally stoked about this.

Just saw the character sheet, and at the bottom, it reads:

Do you want to remember your past?
    Yes No

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    !!!!

I'm so excited about this game. The moment I have money!

If you're curious but not completely sure about Penny, I recommend listening to Paul's recent episode on it.

A quick question I have about the game that wasn't answered by reading it (I did read it the whole way through, and don't think I missed anything): Do the players make up different names, or just play with their own names with the assumption that it's a fictional "you"?

The rules are agnostic on the issue.

In general, the games I've played haven't used the "fictional you" concept, but you certainly can. The most common way for characters to get named is for the Traveler to describe someone else referring to them by name, as in "And then Mary said to me, 'John, you've got help me.'"

Random point of trivia: In the earliest version, the first entry on the Questionnaire was "What is your name?"

I got my copy yesterday. Good job on the packaging, IPR -- it survived some serious mangling by my letter carrier.

The book looks great. Kudos to the production team! The Tevis/Macklin photo in the back made me smile.
