Tell me what numbers would help you in a sales report?

edited May 2007 in Story Games
I am going to post a 6 months sales report (1/1/07 to 5/31/07) in a week-ish. I had planned on a similar format to the one I did a ways back.

But before going through the work...what would help YOU?

Yes, you...you know who I am talkin' about.

Talk amongst yourselves.

  • I for one would love to see all sales of RPGs by title and pricepoint. Seeing just "indie" titles means nothing without the context of their "mainstream" brethren.

That's a big ass list....and I would contest "means nothing", but sure.

  • Reorder numbers. It would probably be enough to just have you explain your thinking, but some sense of the threshold at which you will _replace_ a game when it runs low or runs out would be very interesting to me.

  • Chris: well, it tells us that Mountain Witch sold better than Dogs in the Vineyard, but without the broader context, it's sort of a hollow statistic.
  • To riff on JBR's idea, perhaps instead of line-item, seeing a few entries like "median d20 figures," "median White Wolf figures," etc., might give that sense of how these games are doing in the marketplace without unnecessary information overload.
