It's been a long, long time since I've been here but I'm resurrecting a game project and lost some files that someone here may have. We created Henford as a collaborative experiment and it turned out fantastic. The project uses Henford but my comput…
I'm in Durham. I don't get to game a lot with these guys but when I can it is awesome. There's a great scene here.
It's sad Expo isn't listening. You should talk to Greg Tito. He's in my game group (board games). I know he does some D&D t…
Fiasco is awesome.
Dread is another excellent choice.
I haven't played Dogs In The Vineyard yet but it was a big hit at a recent house con.
Zombie Cinema would work too.
FATE games like Spirit of the Century are pretty easy and fun too.
I have the Mars Colony playset 90% complete. It is more of a Martian Chronicles vibe than anything else.
The Henford one is mine and is pretty sweet if I do say so. I have more Henford goodness on the way.
I have at least two more in the pipe. Bu…
Posted By: Mike MontesaRPGGeek has a coolFiasco "competition"going on in the PBF threads. Pretty cool stuff!
There were some really good playsets. The winner "The Bull" looks to be a lot of fun. Check them out at RPGGeek.
I got and played:
Coloretto - excellent filler game
Zooloretto + Exotic expansion - pretty good
Cloud 9 - surprising push your luck game, very quick
Monopoly Deal - I liked this one too.
But haven't played yet - Settlers of Catan & Seafarers of…
I'm glad you posed this question as it plagues me too. I have a hard time being a player at times because I GM so much. A lot of the issue is I need more experience as a player but these suggestions are helping me too. Thanks.
I'm starting to clean out and found these books that I want to pass on to a good home.
Books for Trade/Sale
Let Them Eat Cheesecake (first ed. hardcover) by Olivia de Berardinis
Just Teasing by Dave Stevens
Supreme Power by J. Michael Straczynski …
Ditto pretty much everyone.
GMing is my real creative outlet. And I'm a much better GM than player. I tend to be too passive as a player. And I don't have as much experience being a player as a GM as I'm the default GM for my group.
Droog's idea …
I have a new copy of Apocalypse Prevention, Inc. for sale or trade.
I'm looking for:
some of the Savage Worlds settings core books (not the SW Explorers' Ed. or basic rules) and the new Fantasy Companion
That Penny game got a lot of good words from those that played. Chris was really happy how it went. I heard about the Dread game. That one sounded really fun.
Oni - It was good to meet you and game with you. Brigitte was a hoot and had some gr…
I just got back too. It was a super blast. Even better than I expected.
I played in Jason's Trail of Cthulhu game. It was a lot of fun. I was one of the investigators who sacrificed themselves to save the world. I hadn't played the Gumshoe syst…
If I don't do family Sunday a.m. I'll try to find you. The game sounds interesting.
As for supper on Sat. I'd like to check out the auction but I'd also like to hang out with you all.
See you tomorrow.
So, anybody who wants, meet near the registration desk about 5:30p on Saturday. We can decide to stay in or head out at that point. Jason's pretty spot on about downtown HP being a graveyard. I'll try to find out if there is anywhere decent to ea…
So who is expecting to be there from SG?
Just wanted to know so I can maybe meet you and put a face with a name.
Jeff, David, and I will be meeting for supper around 5:30p on Saturday in the main rpg room.
Anyone else who would like to come hang out…
This was cool. It was great to see the Pulp Gamer folks. Now I have faces to go with the voices.
JD, it is great that the coolest thing you saw was someone's first PTA game. Thanks for the encouragement.
I'm scheduled for my first PTA game at MAC…
Rabbit's Foot and Mining Crate
I don't see the rabibit's foot contributing too much interesting at this point.
The mining crate seems limited in use (though blowing things up is useful at times) and would seem to be a liability/burden for your nag.
Yeah, they're expressing Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) which flouresces green (!) under UV. The GFP is from a jellyfish that is bioluminescent. We use this stuff all the time at work for assaying for new drugs or insecticides. Very…
The gaming goodness is growing. This is building up to be a sweet con. For any Savage Worlds fans, the SW guys have set up a Savage Saturday Night. There will be a room full of SW that night. It should be fun.
For me, my interests have changed. …
I live in Durham and I go to church. I went there this morning and I will go there tonight. Eric's point is true. There is a real sense of community within our church and I would say in many churches. JD is right. There probably isn't a lot of …
I'm in Durham too so SciFiGenre is my FLGS. They have been helpful most of the time, friendly, and convenient. I had some questions about Paypal and in store pickup of games. They were very attentive via email and thanked me for bringing that mis…
I'm planning on joining your 3:16 game Remi. I had fun in the last one and want to try it again. I also am planning on Jason's Psi-Run game. Outside of that I'm hoping for one of Clint's Savage Worlds games and a couple of board games.
The schedule on the MACE site looks very solid to me. The Saturday slots are, of course, full of good gaming. It is going to make for some hard decisions.
I like the PoD idea, David. Setting that up at a future con would be sweet. Another idea…
I listen to about 15 podcast total.
At the moment these are the favorites:
Narrative Control (I'm listening to archived episodes.) Very good discussion of gaming and game design. This one has made me think and I like that.
Pulp Gamer - very prof…
I'm absolutely going to MACE this year. I will not be running anything but already see a couple of games listed here that I am interested in - PTA, Fiasco. It will be good to game with you all. I'm hoping to get there Friday night but It may be S…
